This is my top tip for a day out. The man made dams especially in the winter when they’re overflowing are a true sight. With 7 dams to explore - Claerwen is my favourite as you can get so close.The visitor centre is also full of info about walks and bike trails to explore. The cafe serves an amazing hot chocolate after all that exploring. 

The castle boasts immaculate gardens and a castle tour. spot the resident peacock and enjoy tea and a cake in the cafe

Hundreds of wild Red Kites are fed at Gigrin Farm everyday of the year at 2pm/ 3pm depending on the time of year. There are 5 disabled access hides metres from where they swoop down. It’s quite a sight. 

Nature trail, Waterfalls and 3 bridges long walk or take the punchbowl and 3 bridges walk, a shorter walk with 220 slate steps.You can then continue by steam train to Aberystwyth seaside town (seperate attraction) 

Electric bike hire,paddle board hire or take

a gentle walk around the lake or into town.

Lakeside cafe is a top spot for an ice cream and gift shop is full of souvenirs for your trip
